Different Types of Eyelash Extensions

There are three types of lash extensions to choose from. Synthetic, silk, and mink. This article gives you a brief idea about these three different types, their pros and cons, and who they are most suitable for. The article will help you choose the best option for your eyelashes and tells you everything you need to know about eyelash extensions.

Synthetic eyelash extensions – Synthetic lash extensions are most suitable for those with thick and healthy lashes of their own. It is mostly favored by younger women who are blessed with very thick natural lashes.

These lashes are made from an acrylic material, which is well polished and very firm. It is a little shinier than silk or mink lashes, as it is polished. When applied, it is more dramatic than the other lash extensions. As they are firm, they hold the curls very well. They are preferred by women who want a very dramatic look.

Some women don’t find synthetic eyelash extensions as soft as silk or mink ones. Their staying power is shorter than mink lashes, and they are heavier than the silk or mink lashes. Heavy lashes weigh down on the eyes and can make you feel uncomfortable, causing droopy eyes. Their weight can cause thinning of the natural lashes. Opt for synthetic lash extensions only if you have very thick lashes and you want a very dramatic look. Otherwise, it is better to consider silk or mink lashes.

Silk eyelash extensions – These are less heavier, finer, and more flexible lash extensions. They are soft and porous, which makes them hold on longer than the synthetic ones. They can be made to look natural and glamorous.

If your lashes are weak or very fine, these are a better choice to give you a more natural look, as the curls are not as uniform like synthetic lash extensions. Choose silk eyelash extensions if you want lashes that are full and long and yet natural-looking. They are long-lasting too when compared to synthetic lashes.

Mink lashes – Faux mink lashes are man-made, and are designed to look like real mink fur. Lash extensions made with faux mink are very popular as they are very fine, soft, and silky and feel just like natural eyelashes.

They are very light and fine, and they feel exactly like natural eyelashes. They are also shinier than the silk lashes, giving the lashes a glossy look. They are long-lasting and are extremely suitable for you if your lashes are very fine and weak.

If you opt for mink lashes, the surface area between your lash and the extensions is much closer, causing less friction and rapid wear and tear of the lashes. As these lashes are very fine, applying them takes longer, as you have to apply the fine fiber. Even with a lot of volume, they don’t look full and voluminous. Try these lash extensions only if you want natural and fluffy looking eyelashes.
