Viral infections that result in liver inflammation are usually for the different hepatitis viruses. There are several common types of hepatitis that affect the liver and can damage it permanently.

Types of hepatitis
There are five hepatitis diseases. Those are the HAV, HBV, HCV, HDV, and HEV.

Hepatitis A
Hepatitis A is the result of HAV or type A hepatitis virus. It is a very common disease mostly found in the Western countries and the Middle East. The primary source of deriving this disease is consuming food or the water from another HAV-infected person.

Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is the most common type of hepatitis disease which is the result of hepatitis B virus or HBV. This disease is a transmitted disease where the viruses are passed from a body to another body through infectious body fluids like blood, vaginal secretions, or semen, or it can be passed through the safety razors used by an HBV-infected person. So, having sex, using another person’s razor, injection syringe used in the hospital can be the source where the hepatitis B virus is present. Millions of people are affected by this virus very easily every year all over the world.

Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is derived from the hepatitis C virus commonly known as HCV. This disease is also derived from the sexual contact of two people from the used injection syringe just like hepatitis B.

Hepatitis D
Among the most common types of hepatitis, hepatitis D is generally derived from the hepatitis delta virus. In this disease, the liver is attacked by the virus directly. Due to the attack of the hepatitis D virus, it can cause inflammation in the liver both chronic and acute. Chronic hepatitis D causes liver cancer or damages liver function. Acute hepatitis D spreads slower than chronic.

Hepatitis E
Hepatitis E is derived from hepatitis E virus or HEV that is a common type of hepatitis. Attack of this virus is mostly caused by unhealthy sanitization or from dirty water. Despite, HEV is also derived from food or a pregnant woman.

The reasons behind the attack of hepatitis are not only the viruses but there are some other reasons which are considered to be infectious like alcohol, toxins, or autoimmune viruses.
